Yurt Camping!

Summer of 2013 we felt like being in the great outdoors, but really weren’t up for the whole tent camping thing (which we have done often).  I was surfing around the Ontario Parks page and came across a Yurt available at a nearby Provincial Park.  We booked for 3 nights and headed to Murphys Point Provincial Park on Big Rideau Lake not far from Perth, Ontario.  We camped there years ago when the girls were young.  The Yurt was amazing!  It was BRAND NEW, never been used, had a screened in porch, a huge wrap around deck, Muskoka chairs, gas BBQ, fridge, lamp, 2 double beds & a single, all that and it faced the water!  We had a great time, wandering the trails, roasting s’mores on the fire and spending as much time as possible reading (with our headlamps once it got dark).  It’s a great little park with a number of campgrounds, nice small beaches and terrific trails.  A lovely short break in the fresh air of Ontario!
